Phuntsok Nyidron is a Tibetan
Buddhist nun
from Lhundup serving a 17-year sentence in
Drapchi prison since 1989.
On October 14,1989, Phuntsok and five other nuns
from the Michungri Nunnery held a peaceful
demonstration in Lhasa
to protest the
Chinese occupation of Tibet. They
chanted some slogans and marched in a
procession for a few minutes before police
arrested them.
